Additional information

The
Royal Alcázar of Seville was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987,
together with the Cathedral of Seville and the Archive of the Indies.
The palatial compound includes the Stucco Palace, with its Hall of
Justice, the Mudéjar Palace built by King Pedro I, and the Gothic
Palace. Of its many patios, the most impressive are the Patio of the
Maidens, with its beautiful tiled walls, and the Patio of the Dolls,
with its interesting collection of column capitals.

Renaissance
elements include the lovely tile altar made in 1504 by Francisco
Niculoso Pisano or the pictorial altarpiece preserved in the Admiral’s
Quarters, devoted to the Virgin of the Seafarers. Renaissance Splendor
also shines in the so-called Halls of Charles V.

The Royal
Apartments are on the first floor, and include such important rooms as
the private chapel of the Catholic Kings, the Prince’s bedroom, the Gala
Dining Room and the Audience Hall, in addition to a splendid balcony
with a view onto the gardens of the Royal Alcazar.
